The Afena Internship is an annual programme that has been running since 2007. The Internship is aimed at giving young students in local tertiary institutions, who have a passion and interest in investments, the opportunity to gain exposure and practical experience in a professional investment management environment.
Applications are open to black/historically disadvantaged students, or graduates, and the Internship is typically for a period of approximately six months.
The interns participating in the Afena Internship work on a flexible part-time basis to suit their academic programmes. Interns have direct interactions with professional staff including investments, operations and business development staff and are given tasks and projects to develop their understanding of investment management. A stipend is provided for the duration of the Internship.
